The team of Bhavan's Research Center is under the able-leadership of Dr. Sandhya Shrivastava, who has been the Coordinator of the Center since November 2007 and the Director since August 2018, after her retirement as an Associate Professor of Microbiology from Bhavan’s College.

Dr. Shrivastava has been a key member in initiating the establishment of Bhavan’s Research Center as an entrepreneurial venture under the mentorship of S.P.J.I.M.R.. Apart from her rich teaching and research experience, she is well recognized by industry and government organizations for her expertise in microbiology in the areas of home personal care, water and food, quality management systems, designing and setting up of laboratories, training, and microbiological contamination resolution. She is a technical expert on the Food & Agriculture Department (FAD) committee of the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), mainly for water and water purification device standards. She is also an active member of the Water Quality India Association (WQIA).
